| Why? | |
|
If you're anything like me, you get lots of spam. Not just spam, but certain emails which
really you don't need to hear that notification bell or icon while working. I don't know about
you, but I get over 300 spam mails a day. And since my Outlook Express checks emails every three minutes,
it can get pretty annoying. |
| What does "Shhh" do? | |
|
"Shhh" allows you to essentially "Shhh" or mute if you will, specific folders in your Outlook
Express program. You can "Shhh" specific folders all the time, or you can "Shhh" them during specific hours. "Shhh"ing a folder does not mark the emails in the folder read, it does not delete them, or the likes. It merely keeps Outlook Express from giving you that "New mail icon" in the system tray, if the only new mail you just received is in folders the you have specified as being "Shhh"ed. If you receive email in any other folders, you will get your usual new email notifications. |
| What does "Shhh" work with? | |
|
Currently it works with Outlook Express 6.0. Seriously though, the type of anti-spam you use shouldn't be a factor. That's what the trial version is for, so you can try it before buying. I am also using Cloudmark Desktop for Outlook Express, version 3.1. Although I am not using it yet, it appears to work with Cloudmark 3.2 as well.
My plans for the future are to see what other mail apps could use something like this |
| How does the "Trial" version work? | |
|
The trial version is a fully working version that works for 7 days. That should be plenty of
time for you to see if it works with your software as well as if it's something you would like to
use. |
| How does the "Full" version work? | |
|
The full version of "Shhh" is a subscription service. It costs only $5.95 per year
and can be used for up to 5 of your machines. |
| Why a "subscription" model? | |
|
A few reasons: A subscription model helps avoid "most" common forms of piracy, therefore the software can be priced lower. The plan is also to port the features of "Shhh" to as many other email applications as possible. A subscription model keeps me motivated to add more features, without obligating you to buy new versions as they become available. |

| Do you re-bill? What if there are no new updates? | |
|
No, there is no automatic re-billing feature. When you subscribe to the full version you
make your payment via PayPal, and you'll be reminded via email just before the year is up... However...if there are no new substantial updates, I will email to all subscribers a permanent version (non-subscription) model. |

not work at that very moment.

Once you've installed "Shhh", it will send you to the website
for your trial key activation. Use of "Shhh" is quite easy. Simply left click on the "Shhh" icon in the system tray. Our menu pops up and the two items you might want to take notice of are:
I allows you to enter the registration key you received upon installation. |
| PRIVACY POLICY | |
|
It's real simple. Your email isn't shared with anyone, any firm or
anything else you can think of, PERIOD! This software doesn't look at the emails you get,
it doesn't even record stats (Shhh'ed vs. Non-Shhh'ed). That's it, bottom line. Spam sucks, and in my opinion so do people who collect your information to give to spammers! So there you have it, the privacy policy. This software just knows your email address, and it gives it to NO ONE....EVER! |
